Artificial Intelligence Expert or Engineer

We want to extract and share the deep "wisdom of crowds" by analyzing the actions of millions of users on our website and save future users from watching useless videos.

Requirements

  • 3+ yrs of applied research experience related one or preferably more of the following:
    • computational linguistics
    • collaborative filtering
    • behavioral profiling
    • relationship mapping
    • semantic clustering
    • symbolic systems
    • Bayesian statistics
    • feedback analysis
    • personalized search
  • You've seen all the common solutions for content discovery and managing information overload and you are convinced that you can radically improve on established practices for them are a looking for the support to do it.

  • You have exhibited intuition for creating heuristics that approximate the perfect answer to a problem
  • You have at least once improved a analytical system by improving the data (via a better way of generating and catching it) rather than tweaking the math.
  • SQL, XML and OOP programming experience
  • Comfortable working in both a LAMP development environment
  • Ability to translate complex math into something an engineer can program a computer to do

Pluses

  • PHP experience
  • Experience in the entertainment/media space
  • Practical understanding of how to scale machine learning algorithms, statistical database queries and artificial intelligence systems

We are an agile, engineer-centered team of self-managed individual contributors collaboratively building a large-scale consumer site in a LAMP environment and CAKE framework.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience developing in a production LAMP environment
  • Expert knowledge of scalable PHP development and MVC frameworks, including CakePHP
  • Expert knowledge of layout templating systems, including Smarty
  • Expert knowledge of UI web standards, including XHTML and CSS
  • Experience with source management tools, including Subversion and CVS
  • Comfortable doing test-driven development in a small team environment
  • Comfortable working in both a Linux and Windows development environment

 

Pluses

  • Experience with building Ajax UI components using PHP and JSON
  • Experience with building XML-based web services
  • Experience with Perl and shell-scripting languages
  • Familiarity with PHP ORM tools, including ActiveRecord and PDO

We live and breathe Web 2.0 and will build widgets, public APIs, and open source tools to cooperate with our co-innovators at other companies.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years experience developing in a production LAMP environment
  • Experience with building browser-based widgets or mashups using PHP and public APIs
  • Sole responsibility for at least one social networking application
  • Desire to become a Multiply, Mash, Facebook, etc. application expert.
  • Advanced knowledge of building Ajax UI components using PHP and JSON
  • Advanced knowledge of UI web standards, including XHTML and CSS
  • Experience with source management tools, including Subversion and CVS
  • Comfortable doing test-driven development in a small team environment
  • Comfortable working in both a Linux and Windows development environment
Pluses

  • Experience developing for the Facebook 8 platform
